Coaching Staff

Chris Allsopp, Co-Director: Navy Director of Boathouse Operations. Former member of seven U.S. National and Olympic Rowing Teams, Pan Am Games silver medalist, U.S. National Team Assistant Coach 1983-1984, over 20 years of high school and college coaching experience.

Robert Friedrich, Co-Director: Head Coach-Navy Lightweight Crew, former U.S. National Team Member, Assistant Coach-U.S. National Women's Rowing Team, former Head Lightweight Crew Coach at Rutgers University, 10 years of coaching experience.

Rick Clothier: Director of Rowing-U.S. Naval Academy, Head Coach-Navy Heavyweight Crew, over 35 years of successful intercollegiate coaching, coached 1975 and 1983 Pan Am Games crews to Gold Medals.

Mike Guerrieri: Assistant Coach-Navy Heavyweight Crew, former Head Coach of Hobart College, coached Michigan's Freshmen boat to a silver at the IRA National Championships.

Nick Baker: Assistant Coach-Navy Lightweight Crew, former Yale heavyweight assistant coach, former coach at West Side Rowing Club.

Dale Hurley: Coach-Philips Academy Andover, former Naval Academy Crew Coach, former Blair Academy Coach, five time U.S. National Lightweight Rowing Team member, World Championship bronze medalist.

Assistant Coaches: All assistant coaches have proven instructional skills and will have extensive intercollegiate and or international experience.
